Jason E. Bernard is a native New Yorker from The Bronx. At the young age of 6 Jason began tap dance training. By the time he was 17, Jason made his Broadway debut in the Tony Award Winning musical Bring In Da’ Noise, Bring In Da’ Funk. In 2000, Jason made his feature film debut in the Spike Lee Film, Bamboozled as” J. Bunny”. Jason had the honor of performing with the late great Gregory Hines in The Showtime Original Movie Bojangles. Jason toured the world for 10 years with the international dance show Riverdance included it’s Broadway company and the 25th Anniversary company at Radio City Music Hall. For three years, while living and dancing in Ireland, Jason was featured in two Productions for Cois Ceim Dance Theatre, Dodgems and Boxes. Most recently, Jason was part of the original company of Cotton Club Parade For City Encores! ( Tony Award Winning “After Midnight” On Broadway). Jason served as the Director, Choreographer and Wardrobe Supervisor for Kris Johnson’s original musical Jim Crow’s Tears. Jason has had the honor to learn from the Masters Of The Art Of Tap Dance. He is truly grateful to be a Faculty member for LA Dance Magic and for the opportunity to share the gift of rhythm all over the world!
